Scott – Jaw Repositioning

by Dr. Sam on July 7, 2010

You can’t tell by the photos but this procedure was done in 1985! The changes have stood the test of time by remaining stable over 25 years.

Overbite Causes Physical Pain

Scott’s overbite made his jaw to go into a recessive position. It caused a constant pursing of lips. It made his chin appear too small for his head. He also suffered from migraines, headaches and jaw pain. In fact, the pain could be excruciating. Scott was surprised that much of that pain stemmed from his poor bite and also from his crooked and misaligned teeth.

What he needed was to have his jaw and his bite aligned into a natural, functional position.

The Jaw Position

While Scott’s chin looks small, it is actually normal size. When he went to Dr. Muslin, DDS, M.A.G.D., Scott learned the position of the jaw and the chin size are closely related to each other. He also discovered that once the jaw got repositioned correctly into the jaw joint (TMJ), his chin would look more in proportion to his face.

That is what Dr. Muslin set out to do.

When looking at Scott in profile, it almost looks like two different people.

Proper jaw alignment is an important part of Dr. Muslin’s trademarked procedure. He uses the technology of the “three dimensional jaw.” This hi-tech equipment is designed to determine the best possible jaw position. The doctor then repositioned Scott’s jaw non-surgically and quickly by only treating his teeth.

His overbite was corrected, the shape of his teeth were improved and his teeth were aligned. Cosmetic bonding was used to give Scott a more dynamic smile. With the addition of an unobtrusive retainer, the treatment was complete.

One of the great by-products for Scott was the cosmetic benefits to his teeth that he realized. His teeth are whiter and his smile is brighter.

You can’t tell by the photos but this procedure was done in 1985! The changes have stood the test of time by remaining stable over 25 years. The overbite is completely gone and Scott is still reaping the benefits of this procedure done so many years ago.

Dr. Sam Muslin

Scott was (and still is) a patient of Dr. Muslin. In 1985, Dr. Muslin had just begun to practice Face Lift Dentistry ®. Since then, the procedure continues to be refined. He has used it on hundreds of patients with positive results. In fact, it is fair to say that the Dental Face Lift ® has changed quite a few lives since 1985. Customized and especially designed for each patient, it truly is the optimal form of dental care available today.
